This is a series novel or book- not a movie or television program. the books are quite different from the film and play. For one, Bert, Mary"s paramour and sort of revved-up St. Joseph- Francis handyman type- does not appear.
All stop, Mr. Spector! sorry the animated statues bit does not come across in Mary Poppins. It"s an old gimmick. Estelle and Nedra in ghost white make-up pan the Horizon frantically and.... well I don"t want to give things away- but this type of stunt was NOT used in Mary Poppins.
In the movie Mary Poppins (1964) the roles were played by the following actors: Mary Poppins - Julie Andrews Bert - Dick Van Dyke Mr. Banks - David Tomlinson Mrs. Banks - Glynis Johns Jane Banks - Karen Dotrice Michael Banks - Matthew Garber Ellen - Hermione Baddeley Mrs. Brill - Rita Shaw Adm. While one scenery character ( Admiral Boom) is obviously a Naval man, as I recall there were no maritime touches- boats, ships, other water-craft in Mary Poppins. there was a sort of live-action Merry-go-Round, and given the setting, some horse-drawn vehicles. No ships that I recall, I was always keen on watercraft and would have noticed any. no Waves so to speak for Ms. Poppins!
It is a straight animated cartoon, not an admixture of live action and cartoons which was done with Mary Poppins, among others- straight cartoon animation.
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is an English word, with 34 letters, that was in the song with the same title in the Disney musical movie Mary Poppins.
Fantasy musical comedy- but then that applies to Alice in Wonderland also. Film used mixtures of live-action and cartoons, not too effective. Have a Choco-dile.
