There is no 'type' of light as light, is just simply light, however, the largest energy output of light known today is a gamma ray burst. Often caused by a collapsing star and in most if not all, the beginning of a black hole.

Blue light has the most energy but its not really called potential energy. Its usually called radiation or electromagnetic energy. The classification "potential energy" is usually applied to objects because of their location or deformation.

Do you mean light as in visible light or do you mean across the entire electromagnetic spectrum. In which case Violet is the most energetic of visible light. Of the EM spectrum it would be high frequency gamma rays.
