The main difference is the fact that normal road cars are built to last year's whereas F1 cars are built to last only one or two races. The components in the car are extremely precise and of high quality. Though they may last a number of races, teams opt to change them every race or every alternate race to ensure that they perform at their peak capacity. Even a 1% efficiency lack might result in another car beating their car on track so teams make sure all details of the car are taken care of.

Normal cars are made of sturdy metals whereas f1 cars are made from carbon fibre and lightweight materials so that the bodywork is not very heavy and to ensure super performance on track.
