controlled experiment
Manipulated variables: what you change in the experiment on purpose. Can be one thing. Ex: The color of the Popsicle.Responding variables: The thing that changes because of the manipulated variable. What changed because you changed something.Ex: The rate of speed at which the Popsicles melt.
Independent variable. The dependent variable is the one that is affected by the independent variable, for example-y=2x+2This is the equation of a line. X is deliberately changed to find y hence - y is the dependent variable and x is the independent variable.
Yes cause there is only one variable that is being manipulated
== == A 'manipulated' variable can be what is called an independent variable in a research setting. Say that I want to know what medications will be most effective in helping people suffering from infection-related stomach ulcers. I have several volunteers who will be in the study, divided into equal groups. I could do any of the following: study one single med and vary the doses across groups with one control group receiving a placebo; I could study several different meds, and perhaps even have various dose-groups for each of them as well if I have enough groups of appropriate size, or I could compare naturopathic or dietetic treatments with meds. In all of these cases the variations in treatment protocols represent the manipulated variable. The dependent variable, the treatment outcomes, are how the volunteers do in the various groups. Statistical analysis will help determine how significantly (if at all) the groups differ from one another, and this will help determine relative effectiveness of the treatments.
The dependent variable is the observed one. If there is an experimental effect, then the changes you see in this variable depend on what you did to the manipulated variable.
It means the one factor that a scientist changes during an experiment; also called independent variable.
A manipulated variable is one that the scientist or tester is testing and changing. It is also called the independent variable. The responding variable is the one that responds to the changes and is measured for results. It is also called the dependent variable.
The independent variable is the variable being manipulated in the experiment in order to show the effect on the dependent variable. It is also called the experimental variable. The dependent variable is the variable being observed in the experiment. Changes in the dependent variable as a result of changes in the independent variable are observed, which is the purpose of the experiment. Dependent variable is also called the response variable.
In a(n) MULTI VARIABLE, a scientist carries out a series of tests that are identical in every respect except for one factor , which is the munipulated variable. I got this example from my WKST at Pearson Successnet.com
Manipulated variable
Manipulated variable
Manipulated variable
Manipulated variable
a controlled experiment must have only one manipulated variable becuase if the experiment had multiple manipulated variables then it would not be a controlled experiment anymore it would be a manipulated Deseret experiment
The factor in an experiment that responds to the manipulated variable
manipulated variable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
