Some of Obama's campaign slogans are:
Change Hope Progress
YES WE CAN!
In 2008, his slogans were "yes we can" and "hope and change." In 2012, he has been using "forward."
President Barack Obama's dog, named Bo, a Portuguese Water Dog, was born October 9, 2008.
Perhaps his best known quote from his first presidential campaign (in addition to his campaign slogan of 2008, "Yes We Can") was from a speech he gave in early 2008. He said, "Change will not come if we wait for some other person, or if we wait for some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

There is probably not one specific day when he said this. Actually, it was part of his presidential campaign. When candidates are running for office, they try to come up with a slogan that will be catchy and also inspirational. When Mr. Obama, then a U.S. senator, was trying to become president in 2007-2008, he and his campaign created the "yes we can" slogan to represent that we (the American people) can make changes, get get things done, can do more than we thought we would be able to do.
Either noun or verb. Example as noun: "Barack Obama's campaign for President of the United States was successful." Example as verb (in its past tense form: "Barack Obama successfully campaigned for the Presidency in 2008."
The presidential campaign of 2008 was won by Barack Obama, who will serve to 2012 unless re-elected. Please support non-bias answers.
During the 2008 presidential campaign, "Yes, We Can" was used by the Democrats to mean that we (the electorate) can change the direction of the country toward more openness in givernment and responsibility to the needs of ordinary citizens, in response to previous government secrecy and corporate power over the economy. (How well the change is coming out is a matter of opinion.)

He used it at the end of his 2004 senatorial victory speech in Illinois and indicated there that it had been used since the start of that campaign. The exact wording is, "I have three words for them. What are those words? Yes, we can."
Barack Obama started his campaign Febuary 11 2007.
It was "hope and change" and also "the change we can believe in" and "yes, we can" in 2008. In 2012, it's "forward," referring to not wanting to elect someone (presumably Mr. Romney) who will return to policies from the past.
He lived in Chicago, but a presidential candidate doesn't ever represent a specific city for an election.
