There were two men that had the name "Brutus." If you're talking about the one that was like Julius Caesar's son and gave the speech, you're thinking of Marcus Brutus. But if you're talking about the one against Caesar and the one who wanted to start the conspiracy, that's Cassius Brutus. The twowere brothers-in-law. I know his last name was brutus

It was not! in fact his name was Marcus Junius Brutus, and the other you were talking about, was Caius Cassius.

Decius Brutus (full name Decius Junius Brutus--Junius Brutus was the family name) was the brother-in-law who was also a conspirator against Caesar and was the man who lured Caesar out of his house to the Senate by telling him that his wife had misinterpreted her dream. Not Caius Cassius

Yes, it was Brutus. His full name was Marcus Junius Brutus. Like most Romans he was simply called by his last name, that is, Brutus.

Why did Brutus and Cassius leave Rome?

Marc Antony left Rome as a triumvir, ruling the eastern part of the empire. He had a love of the east and its culture and even lived for a time with his wife, Octavia, in Athens. But his most important reason for going east was to follow through on Caesar's plans for a war to conquer Parthia. By a victory over the Parthians he would, in addition, gain a victory over his rival, Octavian and be the top man in Rome, just as Julius Caesar was after his victories in Gaul.

In Roman society a name had several components. First of all, Julius Caesar's full name was Gaius Julius Caesar. Why Is Julius Caesar the title of Julius Caesar?

The most important character in Julius Caesar is not Julius Caesar, but it is Marcus Brutus. The reason why Shakespeare put Julius Cesar as the title is simply because it was more appropriate. It is the killing of Julius Caesar, which supplies the motive for the play. The death of Julius Caesar takes place before the middle of the play, however, his spirit dominates the entire work. It is the spirit of Julius Caesar, alive or dead, that supplies the struggle for Brutus and fellow conspirators.
