George Washington Carver had to overcome, time, distance, racism, violence, obstacles to education, slavery, and a host of other unfortunate circumstances due to the time he was born in. His story is inspiring. I can hardly believe he walked all of those miles in search of his education. I think that by the time racism was somewhat subsiding he was conditioned not to assert his rights. He allowed his patents to be stolen, and was not fairly compensated for his scientific breakthroughs. I felt sorry for him. He was almost beaten to death as a child and lynch mobbed as an adult. His mild mannerism assisted him in becoming the genius that pioneered the 21st Century in botany.
