What did Helen kellen grow up in?

She grew up in Tuscumbia, Alabama, up to the age of 19 months, she grew up in a world of colour and noise. After Meningitis, she became deaf and blind and then had to adapt growing up in a silent black world. That is until Anne Sullivan came along and taught her how to communicate, how to see with her hands. Polly Thompson then took over after Anne fell ill and sadly passed away. Her life then was replaced with colour so much so, she went on to become a very educated person.
