∙ 7y agoLincoln employed the "Anaconda Plan" devised by General in Chief Winfield Scott to blockade Southern Ports and the Mississippi River. Unlike Scott's plan however, he did attempt to take the Confederate Capitol and many lives were lost in the effort.
