∙ 13y agoThe Dark Days were about 74 years before the books were set and were a time of rebellion against the Capitol. There were thirteen districts then and as a result of the rebellion the thirteenth district was eliminated.
This is when the Hunger Games started as a way for the Capitol to prove that they had so much control over everybody and could take twenty four children away from their families and only one of them would return. The Hunger Games are to stop them rising against the Capitol again.
