No, the forbidden fruit most likely wasn't sex. In Genesis 1:28, God essentially approved sex by blessing human creation, which was encouraged to have children. God also thought of creating Eve, to end Adam's loneliness. Additionally, God approved Adam and Eve feeding off of whatever was available in the Garden of Eden. The only divine proscription was avoidance of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

No, it was the fruit of knowledge of good and evil. It represents the ability of mankind to use freewill.

Before I go on with the discussion, I would like to know why my initial answer under the question was deleted. Was it already deleted before you answered the question (in that case, it's none of your fault) or did you delete my answer and put yours in it instead?

I was the first one who answered that question so I don't think it is right for anyone to delete my answer and then claim to be or let someone else claim to be the first one who answer that question.

The discussion page does not allow me to post more discussion,so I have to post on the answer page.

Now the discussion:

In Genesis there are two accounts of creation of humans.

Genesis 1:26 refers to the creation of god-like humans in God's image and likeness and the god-like humans were given dominion over the earth.

Genesis 2:7-22 refers to the second creation of humans-earthly humans without intelligence who were created for the purpose of tilling and keeping the Garden of Eden and according to the New Testament, they were made intentionally subject to vanity.

In Genesis 3:22 the gods who created humans confirmed that the earthly humans became god-like humans only after they had eaten the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Your assumption that HaShem always intended for Adam and Chava to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil so that they would have the intelligence to exercise freewill is interesting but is contradictory to the following facts:

1/ God commanded Adman not to eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17)

2/ God cursed the serpent for enticing Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit.

Your assumption is also contradictory to your previous opinion that there was only one creation of humans- the creation of humans in God's image and likeness. If that was the case, then the humans in God's image should have had the intelligence to exercise free will already without having to eat the forbidden fruit to acquire the intelligence to exercise free will as you surmised.

The fact that Adam and Eve had to eat the forbidden fruit to become god-like beings with intelligence means that, unlike the god-like humans in the first creation of humans, Adam and Eve were not created in God's image.

Therefore, your belief that the forbidden fruit represents mankind's ability to exercise free will is wrong. Even though Adam and Eve were not god-like beings before eating the forbidden fruit, they still had the ability to choose to eat or not to eat the forbidden fruit. Of course, since the Testament reveals that Adam and Eve were made subject to vanity- something that can be obtained only if they had the intelligence acquired by eating the forbidden fruit, their free will to choose between eat or not to eat the forbidden fruit had been compromised already. So it was not genuine free will that Adam and Eve used to decide on eat or not to eat the forbidden fruit because they were programmed to have the propensity to want to eat the forbidden fruit.

If you had read " God Is In Control...The God Of Manipulation" that I mentioned, you cannot deny the fact that God did use total mind control on some humans to achieve his plans (the Pharaoh of Egypt being one of them) and as far as the humans unfortunate enough to be the subject of mind control, free will was only something they thought they had while it had already been taken away without them knowing it.

Yes. Adam had sex with the animals, and upon finding that they did not suit him, asked for a woman to fit him. God gave him Eve, and they made love.

Contrary to popular belief, the forbidden fruit is not an apple and is never named throughout The Bible. It is simply called the forbidden fruit.
