Shakespeare's house in Stratford was called New Place although he was only able to visit it occasionally for most of the time after he bought it. The house itself was torn down by a later owner who was sick of seeing parts of it stolen by souvenir hunters, but the New Place gardens are still there.

Cottage gardens are super simple to make! There are no real "rules" that apply to this style of garden. The cottage garden originated as a way for farm wives to have flowers, and as most spaces were used to grow food for winter, a small space (usually in front) was saved for flowers. The idea with a cottage garden is to grow plants closer together with lots of variety, some cottage garden favourites are delphinium, foxglove, hollyhocks, bells of Ireland, bachelor buttons, morning glories and zinnias. A simple colour pattern can be chosen, for example mine consists of blue, white, pink, purple and green, some choose warmer colours, yellow, blue, orange and green.
