She put a cap on her head, and cast a spell. The Wicked Witch had a golden cap that was covered with diamonds and rubies. She needed to put it on her head, to call the winged monkeys. For they owed her three wishes. She had used up the first in establishing her rule as the Wicked Witch of the West. She had used up the second in driving back the Wizard of Oz. She hadn't planned on using up her third wish, in such a way. But she was desperate. Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion were all on her land. She had called forth her wolves, crows, black bees, and enslaved Winkies. All had been routed. With the cap on her head, she first stood on her left foot, and said, "Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke." Then she stood on her right foot, and said, "Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo." And then she stood on both feet, and said, "Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik." The winged monkeys appeared, took their orders, and carried them out with frightening efficiency. The Tin Woodman was dropped, and broken, on rocks. The Scarecrow was de-strawed. His boots, clothes, and hat were bundled up, and placed on the topmost branch of a tree. The Cowardly Lion was roped, and imprisoned within a high iron fence. For the Witch intended to harness him, for hard work. The only trespassers for whom things didn't go as planned were Dorothy and Toto. For the winged monkeys recognized the power of good as stronger than that of evil. And they saw the mark of the protective kiss of the Good Witch of the North on Dorothy's forehead. So they were most respectful in carrying her and Toto to the Witch's castle, and depositing them at the doorstep.

"Ep-pe, pep-pe, kak-ke!" while standing on the left foot and "Hil-lo, hol-lo, hel-lo!" on the right and "Ziz-zy, zuz-zy, zik! on both are what the Wicked Witch of the West says to call the Winged Monkeys in "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."

Specifically, the Wicked Witch of the West first takes out the Golden Cap. The charm is written on the inside lining. By the end of the charm, the Winged Monkeys are there.

Who does Elphaba love in wicked?

No, Elphaba wasn't in love with the Wizard. She took advantage of an opportunity to spend some time away from Shiz University. Once in the Emerald City, she became aware of unlikeable aspects of the Wizard's personality. For example, he had her give caged monkeys the ability to fly. Elphaba learned after her spell worked that the Wizard was planning to use them as spies. In contrast, Elphaba was a passionate advocate of animal rights and well-being.

Who is the Scarecrow in 'Wicked'?

Answer #1 Fiyero becomes the Scarecrow due to Elphaba's protective spell. Answer #2 Fiyero is the Munchkin Prince who falls in love with Elphaba Thropp, the Wicked Witch of the West. Elphaba is passionate about animal rights and welfare in the land of Oz. That gets her in trouble with the Wizard of Oz. Fiyero becomes Elphaba's defender in this and other matters. The Wizard's guards manage to ambush Fiyero. Elphaba turns Fiyero into the Scarecrow before the guards can torture him to death.

Are Glinda and Elphaba from Wicked half-sisters?

Is Fiyero in 'Wicked' the Scarecrow in 'The Wizard of Oz'?

Yes. Elphaba Thropp, who is the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, turns Prince Fiyero of Munchkinland into the Scarecrow, to save him from being tortured by the Palace guards of her father, the Wizard of Oz. Elphaba also turns Peter Boq, who is the very important and very rich Munchkin who offers hospitality to Dorothy Gale and her pet dog Toto in The Wizard of Oz, into the Tin Woodman. She casts her spell, to protect him from being harmed by her sister Nessarose, who is jealous of his love for Glinda the Good Witch, and who is the Wicked Witch of the East in The Wizard of Oz. And Elphaba and Fiyero release a caged lion cub into the forest, to become the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz. And ever passionate over the rights and well-being of animals, Elphaba gives caged simians the ability to fly as Winged Monkeys. Unfortunately, Madame Morrible, the Wizard's press secretary, gets the Cowardly Lion and the Tin Woodman to see Elphaba as the caster of evil spells. And the Wizard uses the Winged Monkeys to spy on Animals, who difer from animals in their ability to speak. Ironically, the Lion wouldn't have learned to talk if he hadn't been released by Elphaba from his cage.

What causes Elphaba Thropp to become 'Wicked'?

Elphaba Thropp is not wicked in "Wicked."Instead, it is Elphaba's reputation that becomes wicked. The reason lies in the rumors spread against her by such powerful enemies as the Wizard and Madame Morrible. Some people believe the lies and rumors just because Elphaba is quite different with her green skin. Others fear the consequences if they try to defend her or put a stop to the character defamation.
