Sorry, there won't be a "period in the church after the death of John" because John was given the implicit promise by Christ, that he would be allowed to tarry until Jesus Returns. At that time, he will be changed from a translated being into a resurrected being, not having tasted of death. What a cool gift, and also a sad one. John's goal was to be allowed to stay on the earth to bring others to Jesus until Jesus returns. How heartbreaking it must be for him to see the world as it is today. On the other hand, he's seen some major technological breakthroughs!!!! Sure would like to run into him someday!

The period in the church after the death of John, one of the twelve apostles, is known as the post-apostolic period. This period marked the passing of the apostles and the transition of leadership and growth of the early Christian church. During this time, important developments such as the writing of the Early Church Fathers and the establishment of key Christian doctrines occurred.
