The results of the Spanish armada battle was that England defeated them... Spain had "less-mobile" ships so they could not maneuver as easily as England could. Also a storm known as the Protestant Winds came through, wiping out the Spanish. Before this battle Spain was known as "sea dogs" they were rulers of the sea. After being defeated by England, they lost that control and England gained it.

The Spanish Armada made its disastrous foray against England in late July, 1588. After being delayed by a 1587 attack on Cadiz by Sir Francis Drake, the armada finally sailed from Lisbon, Portugal on May 28, 1588. It did not reach the English Channel until July 19. The first attacks by the British fleet occurred on July 21 and 23, with two Spanish ships colliding and being abandoned. Unwilling to attack without being able to land its invasion force, the armada docked at Calais in France on July 27. On July 28, British forces made a fireship attack at night, scattering the enemy vessels, who then lost 5 warships in the Battle of Gravelines the following day. Harassed by the British, and unable to pick up the waiting army, the surviving ships looped around Scotland and Ireland to the west, encountering fierce gales that wrecked many more ships.
The English fleet, under Drake, destroyed the Spanish Armada, with a lot of help from our typically British stormy weather in the English Channel and the North Sea. It was this stormy weather that scattered the Spanish fleet, and forced them to take the long way round the top of Scotland, before they could head south with many Spanish ships floundering or being blown onto the rocks.

Yes. They had spotted them before that and had chased them up the English Channel until the Armada had stopped in Calais. Whilst the Spanish were in Calais, the English sent burning ships into the Armada and the Spanish panicked. Only two-thirds of the Armada made it back to Spain alive after being chased around Britain by the English.
