There are several species of Mullet. Some are Sea/Marine species and others are Estuarine/Brackish species. I think there may even be a fresh water mullet that comes from the Amazon too.

If you cort it in a river or stream it will be fresh water fish, but if u cort it out in the sea it will be salt water fish, also if you cort it in a lake, or a man made area then it will be a fresh water fish
