They didn't celebrete the way we do now. Back then they always put a star on the top of the tree, it was a tradition back then. Sometimes they would use popcorn on stings as ornaments. They might have had light, but it depends on how far your going back. People back then didn't have as much money as we do now, so they used creative ways to decorate. P.S.
