Ramses II lead Egypt from 1290 BC up until 1224 BC. During this time, he fought and won a peace treaty with the Hittites and built extensively throughout the empire, with his most known monument being Abu Simbel.

Ramasses the great was known for his large amounts of temples, statues, monuments, his beautiful tomb, his wife nefertari's beautiful tomb, his large amounts of children (100+)and the huge amounts of buildings and statues he unsurped from earlier pharaohs(he replaced their names and cartouches with his own).

eg Ramesseum, abu simbel, his tomb in the Valley of the Kings, Nefertari's tomb in the valley of the kings, his additions to Luxor and Karnak temples.

Some of his accomplishments were that he became pharoah, built a city called the house of Ramses expanded Egypt, had no enemies while he ruled.
