Ancient Egyptian paper was made with Cyperus papyrus(where we get the word "Paper"), a wetland sedge reed that used to grow in the Nile Delta.

Artisans would cut the reed, slice it thinly, then 'glue' it together by layering the slices together and letting it dry in the sun. There were no "books", as we know them, in Khmt (Black Land); there were sheets of papyrus & scrolls made up of long sheets.
