we shouldn't have gone to war with Mexico because all we really wanted was California at the time and Texas came to us to be annexed. It basically was a big misunderstanding between who was on who's land.
The Spanish American War did not involve Mexico.
Mexico was neutral.
Was intoduced in Arizona and New Mexico.
Invasion Estadounidense de Mexico or: American invasion of Mexico
A provocation to start a war, as Mexico had already warned the US that annexation would mean war (it did; and Mexico lost).
Annexation and the Thornton Affair.
Mexico diplomatically notified the US that the annexation of Texas would be considered an Act of War, and the US went ahead and annexed Texas.
Slavery and manifest destiny, which were the real reasons behind such conflict.
In fact, the Mexican-American War (1846-1848) was one of the reasons to the American Civil War (1861-1865)
Nueces River. This is one of the "official" reasons for the Mexican-American War.
Mexico has passed the boundary of the United States, has invaded our territory and shed American blood upon the American soil
I don't have 3 reasons, however the main reason is manifest destiny. The government claimed war accusing mexican troops to have illegally crossed into American territory where they attacked and killed American soldiers.
Everybody's Gone to War was created in 2005-03.
2 main reasons. Germany kept sinking ships with Americans on them (such as RMS Lusitania). And Germany plotted with Mexico to conquer parts of US and give land back to Mexico.
There were a number of "casus belli" (Latin for "Causes of War"), but the ultimate reasons were based on Germany's policy of unrestricted submarine warfare. The "Zimmerman telegram", a German diplomatic message addressed to Mexico, had proposed that Germany and Mexico should enter into an alliance in which previously Mexican territories such as Texas, New Mexico and Arizona would be restored to Mexico when Germany won the war. Mexico ignored the proposal, but the message was intercepted and decrypted by the British, who used it encourage the US to enter the war overtly on the side of Britain. This provided the final impetus for Congress to declare war.
America became involved in World War I due to a variety of reasons: the sinking of the Lusitania that led to American deaths, the publishing of the Zimmermann Telegram which promised Mexico some American territory, and their closeness with the Allies in World War I.
the Zimmerman note is one of the reasons why the US entered ww1. The German Officer Zimmerman sent a letter to Mexico saying that they should be on the Central Powers side and have a war with the US. That way, the US would be distracted and not interfere with the European war. In exchange, Mexico would get back their land that the US took/won from them. (meaning Texas, New Mexico and Arizona, give or take a state). However, this note was found before it the Mexican official saw it and the US finally lost patience with Germany.
