The relationship between the national government and the people changed drastically as a result of the New Deal. The government took on a greater role in the everyday social and economic lives of the people. FDR's fireside chats gave the population hope that things would improve. While many criticised the New Deal measures, a few acts stood out and were supported, eventually, even by most all critics. Social Security, the CCC, the TVA, and the RFC proved to be beneficial.
