How tall is a window in a castles and what are they used for?

If you're talking about "arrow slits", which are the tall, narrow windows... then they are around 3 to 9 feet tall depending on the type of bow used to protect the particular castle. Arrow slits are used as a form of defense. They provide a protected 'window' for bowmen and crossbowmen to shoot out of, while keeping most of their body covered.
