The pressure inside the container will increase. Pressure (P) is force(F) divided by the area(A) it hits on. If you decrease the area, you increase the pressure.

The pressure inside the container would decrease.

If the volume of a container of air is reduced?

If the volume of a container of air is reduced by one half the partial pressure of the oxygen with in the container will be doubled. If the volume of a container of gas is reduced, the pressure inside the container will increase.

What would happen if a container did not have a pressure release valve?

The pressure would build inside the container and it could not run safely without damaging parts and it may blow up.

What will happen to the pressure of gas in a container if the temperature increases?

The gas is likely to expand and raise the pressure inside the can. Should the pressure become too great the can will burst.

The gas pressure inside a container decreases when?

If the lid was on the container all you would have to do is take the lid off so that the gas can escape. In other words, when the gas escapes, the amount of pressure is reduced (decreased). Certainly true if the gas pressure inside was originally higher than atmospheric pressure. Another way would be to cool it.

What causes pressure inside a helium balloon?

The pressure in a container is due to the particles of the gas hitting the inside walls of the container.

If the air pressure inside a container were greater than the fluid pressure outside the container what would happen?

Okay i think i might know but i'm not sure but i think this can never happen because if it did the atmospheric pressure would crush us. our fluids in our bodies exert pressure on the atmospheric pressure(the same amount) and pretty much neutralize the effect!

The collision of the molecules of a fluid inside the surface of their container best describes?

The collision of the molecules of a fluid inside the surface of their container best describes pressure.

Why will a container of gas explode when heated?

Increasing the number of moles of gas, decreasing the volume of the container, or iIncreasing the temperature could cause a rigid container of gas to explode.

When a sample of gas is cooled in a closed container the pressure inside the container?

What is the pressure inside of a container when nitrogen gas is added?

The pressure inside of a container when nitrogen gas is added depends on:what the pressure was before the gas was addedhow big the container ishow much nitrogen gas is addedthe temperature of the gas before it is addedthe temperature of the container and its contents
