Another woman was Molly Pitcher, who brought water to the soldiers during the fighting.

These women include Mary Washington, Martha Custis Washington, Lucy Flucker Knox, Abigail Adams, Mercy Otis Warren, Catherine Moore Barry, Sybil Ludington, Nancy Hart, Esther de Berdt Reed, and Margaret Cochran Corbin.

The most traditional answer is Molly Pitcher (Mary McCauley)- she aided the American Army in the Revolutionary War manning cannons and bringing pitchers of water to troops (hence her nickname).
