to much boost, to low of octane fuel, carbon buildup on pistons, ignition timing is to far advanced. take your pick

yes as long as the Talon is not a turbo. both engines are the 420a.
Check for proper fuel pressure in the 1997 Talon. The engine appears to be starving for fuel and only has enough pressure to start.
