Was it coolant? Possibly a leaking heater core.
Check to see if the drains from the sunroof are clogged. If they are rain water will pool and run into the car.

Because some idiot spat on the floor.

No, there isn't sand on the floor of the colosseum because there is no floor. What was once was the floor is gone. When you visit it you look down into what was under the floor originally. When the Romans used the colosseum they could flood the floor to have sea battles.
a dale
Cross your fingers and hope for the best. It may delaminate and it may not.
Unless it's something extraordinary, a leak in the heater core is about all that could cause it. It may be that condensate from the AC core is draining inside the cab, but that is unlikely. If it's a heater core leak, the fluid on the floor will be engine coolant, and if you have anti-freeze in it, you'll have that on the floor. And your engine coolant level will be dropping. It is possible that the engine may be overheating for lack of coolant.
clutch is done
There are many irreplaceable items that can be lost during a floor due to water damage. Often if left for a while water damage can ruin anything. Photographs from weddings or baby books are often irreplaceable. Personal items such as wedding rings or mementoes from a first date could be swept away in a flood. The most irreplaceable loss cause by a flood is life.
