The ph is a measure of the H+ve ion in the solution, the lesser the ph number means higher acidic the solution is where as the higher ph number means more of basic solution. If you add water to a solution with ph5 it will be introduced with more oh OH-ve ion which will make it first neutral(ph=7) or even basic in nature.
The solution is becoming more neutral so there are less free protons in the solution.
Yes and no. Collagen will dissolve in water, but only at the right pH. At physiological pH (pH7.4) collagen is a stable structural protein which forms the scaffolding for skin and connective tissue in a body that is mostly water. What helps collagen stay stable in the body is also that it is crosslinked with glucosaminoglycans such as chondroitin or hyaluronic acid. Collagen can also be crosslinked in a lab with heat in the absence of water or with chemicals such as carbidiimide or glutaraldehyde. Collagen should start dissolving under pH5.
It will go down by 1 or 2 i think because water is pH 7 and pH7-pH5=2
PH5 doesn't actually exist as a stable molecule. However, if one imagines it to have the same geometry as PF5 (namely trigonal bipyramidal), then by symmetry PH5 would be non-polar.
PH5 does not exist. If it did, the bonds would possible be polar as there is an electrnegativivty difference between P and H. PH3 does exist and will have bond polarity.
pH3. It is more acidic
