It is the only source of light!
The light coming from it takes hundreds of years to reach us, so what you see when you look at it is light that left it hundreds of years ago. So if it did explode and die, then it would take hundreds of years for us to see it happen.
Without light, grass would not be able to photosynthesize and create food for itself. Eventually, the grass would die due to lack of energy and nutrients.
The world zombie appocalaps would happen and it will be the end.

If light was not reflected, objects would appear invisible as there would be no way for the light to bounce off the surface and travel to our eyes. Reflection is essential for us to see and perceive the color and texture of objects around us.

The answer would be the same if the sun suddenly 'went out' like a light bulb. No sunlight no food chains. No sunlight, colder. The Earth and all on it would die and become a frozen ball.
