density is a measure of mass(weight)/ volume as the density of a specific mass increases the volume necessarily shrinks. Thus a lower density for a given mass indicates that mass has a greater volume. The wood therefor takes up more space, or volume, in this example.

What is the total space that 27.92 grams of a substance occupies if it has a density of a substance is 3.45 grams per milliliter?

If there are 27.92 grams of it, and each milliliter holds 3.45 grams, then you need27.92/3.45 = 8.093 milliliters of space to hold all that mass.

How many grams does a key have?

Density is a characteristic property of a substance. The density of a substance is the relationship between the mass of the substance and how much space it takes up (volume).

What is the density at 22 degrees Celsius of 15.0 milliliters of a liquid that has a mass of 4.9 grams?

If those 4.9 grams of mass fill 15.0 milliliters of space right now, this minute, then the density of the substance is 4.9/15 = 0.3267 grams per cm3 right now, this minute, regardless of the temperature. If the temperature changes, its volume will change, and so will its density.

How is the denity of a substance related to its mass and its volume?

Density is mass per volume. Density is the amount of substance there is in a given container/space (the volume). Its SI units: grams/Litre (g/L)

How do you convert 286 grams to millimeters?

Weigh 286 grams of IT, then measure the amount of volume. Unless you are measuring something with a known density, ie water, you cannot do the conversion. Imagine 286 grams of weathers takes up more space than 286 grams of lead or 286 grams of helium.

What is density a measure of?

Density is the mass per volume of an object. Weight and mass are two diffrent things entirely. If you where to travel to the moon or another planet your weight would change just not your mass.

What is the density of a 48.6 gram piece of wood that occupies 4.58 ml of space in SI units?

48.6 / 4.58 = 10.6The SI units for density can be:g/ml (grams per milliliter {grams per cm3})kg/l (kilograms per liter {kilograms per dm3})

An object with a mass of 18 grams occupies 3.0 cm3 of space is?

Assuming you want density: 18 g/3 cm3 = 6 gcm-3

How many grams of steel would fit into a space measuring 4 cm cubed?

It depends on the density of steel. There are many types of steel depending on what substances are alloyed together. The density of stainless steel can range from 7.5 to 8 grams per cm3. But there are other types of steel that are denser or lighter.

What is the amount of matter in a given space called?

Since "amount of matter" is measured as an object's mass and "a given space" is measured as volume, the amount of matter in an a given space should equal mass/volume. Mass divided by volume is an object's density. Acceptable units of density include: grams/liters, kilograms/cubic meters, slugs/cubic inch, slugs/cubic foot, and many others.

What is it when a object in space blocks out another object in space?

It is called an eclipse.

How many ml in 100 grams?

It depends! The ml is a unit of volume and the gram is a unit of mass. 100 grams of water would equal 100 ml, but 100 grams of lead would equal about 8.82 ml. This is all down to something called density and density's units are often grams per ml. How heavy something is for the space that it occupies.
