What year did Alice turn into a vampire?

Alice was put in a mental institute because she could see things in the future, and in those days it was unheard of. Someone (an anonymous vampire) cared about her very much in the institute and changed her, as James was hunting her. In twilight she can't remember who changed her, and this is because she was in darkness when the change occurred. She realises what actually happened when James explains too Bella in the Ballet studio and James tells her how Alice is the only person that ever escaped him.

Alice was changed into a vampire because James bit her and for some reason he ran off and she just woke up in a pitch blck room on the floor as a vampire. Then, she found the Cullens, or they found her. But, she didn't even know who she was or how she got there. Then, as a vampire, Alice's gift is to see into a future for people. She could see the future of vampires the clearest, and could see humans a little bit because she was a human. She could not see werewolve or other creatures of that nature, though. Then, with her power, she found her love, Jasper. So, she saw that he would go into the cafe, so she went in and met him. Then, they fell in love, so Jasper was added to the Cullen family.

So they put her in a insane asylum,there was a caretaker and he happened to be (yes you guessed it a vampire. So he became every found of Alice and wanted to turn her but didn't. Until the day James came and when it comes to something James wants well theres no stopping him.... so he set his eyes on Alice according to James Alice had the most powerful irresistible smell, and he wanted it badly. So the caretaker turned Alice into what she is. while she burned James killed the caretaker and didn't want Alice now that she was what he is a vampire. also in the book Alice explains that she cant remember anything from that time in her life because its was dark and now you know why.
