Greg's official retirement date is November 30, 2006. Greg was diagnosed with a condition called Orthostatic Intolerance - one of a group of conditions under the general term Dysautonomia. Dysautonomia is a dysfunction of the Autonomic Nervous System which is the system that controls aspects of our bodies that we don't have to think about - such as breathing, heart beat, blood pressure and sweating. O.I is an intolerance of the body remaining upright and static. Blood will pool in the legs, blood pressure drops, and with decreased blood flow to the brain the patient will faint. Some additional symptoms can be extreme fatigue, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath and low blood pressure. It is NOT life threatening, but will stay with a person all their life. There are various medications that can be taken, and it is very important to learn how to manage the conditon. Greg worked for three years to get his health back in order, and in September 2009 said that he is well enough to be able return to singing via solo shows.
