It's not specified in Earth years, just that it happened "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away." Most of the dates in Star Wars are relative to pivotal battles. The Battle of Yavin is typically used as the starting point. So everything is either BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) or ABY (After Battle of Yavin).

As you know, the way we measure our years in real life is with BC and AD. Star Wars is BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) and ABY (After Battle of Yavin). What makes it confusing is our calendar is different from Star War's. The best way I could calculate it is guessing the year zero in Star Wars (which is during Episode 4 - A New Hope) is the same as 1977 (which is the year Star Wars first came out. As of now (2010), that was 33 years ago, so the year in Star Wars would be 33 ABY. But if we guess that BBY is the same as BC, and ABY is the same as AD, we could say that the year of Star Wars is 2010 ABY.
