I have a high standard r 108 parts list that came with this pistol new the parts list dates 11/68 so i think it is from the 60s

No. The R-101 was made in caliber .22 LR, which is a very different round from the .22 WMR. Later models of the High Standard Sentinel WERE made in .22 Mag, but if YOUR sidearm is not marked .22 Magnum or .22 WMR, do NOT try to fire them in it.

Sometime between ABOUT 1955 and 1980. Wish we could be more specific, but your High Standard Sentinel revolver (made for Sears) has not been catalogued, and that is not the serial number- that is the model number used by Sears.
