1990, and no. He was jailed for 27 not 5 years.
Nelson Mandella pushed an end to aparteid while in prision and each year brought more recognition. In 1990 he was released from prision because the opposition to apartheid had become so strong that de Klerk was afraid of a violent overthrow. Nelson Mandella became president of South Africa in 1994. By then blacks had been given the vote and South Africa was a republic allowing all over the age of 18 to vote.
He went to jail in ther year of 1963
nelson mandela was realesed in february 11 1990
The most important event was when Nelson Mandela went to jail for 28 years. He was released in 1990. Became President in 1994
South African president F.W. de Klerk removed the ban on the African National Congress and released him.He got out because the president that put them in jail (P.W. Botha) in the first place died and the guy who took his spoot ( Frederik Willem de Klerk) freed Nelson and all the other people in jail with him for the same reason Nelson was put in jail-Hope this helps
He was released on February 11th 1990.
It will come out feb.20th. Im so seeing it =)

I think the word bludgeoning generally refers to all the trials and tribulations suffered by William Henley and specifically to his hospitalization with tuberculosis of the bone. In the movie "Invictus" the word refers generally to the trials of Nelson Mandella and specifically to his thirty year imprisonment. Peggy
Nelson Mandela was finally released from Victor Verster Prison on February 11, 1990. He was housed there for the final 14 months of his 27-year improsonment.
