From my own experience, the Saxophone is fairly easy to learn. It you're talking really easy, then something like tambourine, but that's probably not what you're looking for. The recorder is very easy, but it's not a real instrument.
The 3 easiest instruments to play are: the piano, the violin, and the guitar. You would have to choose which one you would like to play.
I think the tin whistle because of its simple fingering, or it could be also the drums, guitar,or piano.
The saxophone is generally considered the easiest to play and learn.
The recorder, the harmonica and the Ukulele are all relatively easy. I play them, as well as guitar, bass, piano and organ, and I'd rank those three the easiest.

Amazingly the harmonica is the best selling instrument in the world. this is because its so easy to play, and (pretty sure) it doesn't need tuning.

Not in the least. Triangle is far simpler to play.
The world's best selling instrument is the harmonica, considering they are one of the easiest instruments for anyone to play.
Trumpet is most likely the easiest instrument to double on. The mouthpieces are the closest in size out of all the brass instruments.
