In some ways, scientific names make scientist's lives a lot easier, because if you don't know what a word means, you can guess. Take photosynthesis as an example. If you don't know what it means, you can guess what it means because photo- means light, -synthesis means to manufacture, so photosynthesis means to manufacture something through using light. Also, in terms of specis, it helps classify them. Homo sapeins and Homo erectus have similar names, and therefore are similar species.

Scientific names are used to eliminate confusion. A tiger simply isn't called tiger worldwide. People in German will not know what a tiger is unless they have some sort of English education. When you tell them Panthera tigris People (at least those who knows about scientific names) will know that Panthera tigris is a scientific name for a tiger. **

**Note: However, tiger among many other animals, have subspecies, which may confuse the people more when you're not referring to the SPECIFIC type of a tiger.

Scientists use scientific naming so that scientists the world over can speak a common language. Regardless of the language, every animal will have the same order, family, genus, and species. Everyone will have the same parts. The symbol for lead will be Pb. Scientists accept discipline in language even if they like to explore in other areas.
