Elijah did not literally go to heaven carried by a chariot of fire. This is symbolic of his going to heaven in glory.
Elijah went to heaven in a chariot of fire.2 Kings 2:11As they [Elijah and Elisha] were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.
2 Kings 2:11 - Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
Elijah And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 2 Kings ii, I-II.
It Doesn't matter, religion isn't real. There is no God.
2Kgs:2:1: And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. 2Kgs:2:11: And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
The prophet in the Old Testament who went to be with the Lord without experiencing death was Elijah. According to the Bible, he was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind by a chariot of fire.
"...no man hath ascended up to heaven, but He that came down from heaven, even the Son of Man which is in heaven." (John 3:13)Another answer:You're probably thinking of Elijah: 2 Kings 2:11 - Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. [NKJV]
1) Enoch (who was the son of Seth who was righteous in God's sight and the son of Adam and Eve) 2) Elijah 3) Jesus
Elijah the prophet was taken up alive in the clouds.Answer2 Kings 11: And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and bElijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.I believe that this description is symbolic, and that Elijah was taken back to heaven not taisting death, but was translated. He had finished his work upon the earth and the Lord called him to other duties.
A:2 Kings 2:11: "And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven." There is no biblical explanation of why Elijah was taken up in a chariot of fire by a whirlwind. However, throughout the Near East, the sun god was believed to travel in a chariot of fire, and this passage is very typical of stories of the sun god. It is well established from archaeology that the pre-Exilic Hebrews worshipped the sun god, and 2 Kings 23:11 even confirms this, when King Josiah undertook a reform of the religion of Judah: "And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entering in of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathan-melech the chamberlain, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariots of the sun with fire."The stories of Elijah and Elisha are consistent with them having, in early times, been worshipped as the sun god, before the story evolved to make them mortal prophets of Israel. Elijah's ability to bring down fire from heaven and perform great miracles are evidence of this. In the earliest version of this story, Elijah was taken up in a chariot of fire by a whirlwind because he was the sun god.
Elijah never went to Heaven we was tooken up in the chariot of fire to the heavens(skys). Moses however was never said to have went to Heaven. So neither one of then went to Heaven before Jesus paid the penalty of sin. "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, the Son of man which is in heaven" -John 3:13 Obviously they didn't ascend into heaven then.
