Blood and water flowed out. This is recorded in the book of John 19: 34.
If by spear you mean the spear that was used when He was on the cross, then it was pierced through His side to see if He was dead. When someone dies, the blood and water inside their bodies separate, and that is what happened with jesus. The soldiers pierced His side and blood and water flowed out, proving He was dead. But praise God He rose again! :)
The Bible does not specify exactly where. It has been suggested that He was pierced between the ribs and up into the heart.
The scriptures do not specify "between which ribs" Jesus side was pierced. Any piercing would result in his bleeding out and that was the purpose of it. So it is not significant between which ribs he was pierced. John 19:34 is the place in the Bible to read about this.
The Romans pierced the side of Jesus with a spear to see if he was dead while on the cross and they found that yes he was.
He had four piercings. his hands, ear (s?), side, feet. his head was pierced with thorns too.
According to the Bible, a Roman soldier pierced Jesus' side with a spear while he was on the cross. This event is described in the Gospel of John, chapter 19, as occurring to ensure Jesus was dead before his body was removed from the cross.
According to tradition, blood flowed out followed by water, giving the traditional Christian belief that Jesus shed his last drop of blood for us.
The Spear of Destiny (Holy Lance, Lance of Longinus, Spear of Longinus) have name for lance that pierced the side of Jesus when he hung on the cross.
The bible does not mention the side Jesus was pierced on, but he was surely pierced to find out if he was dead.(John 19:34)More information:The Left...the spear penetrated the pericardium...the blood and water is by appearance only it is in the pericardium where the serum (water) is first separated from the platelets (blood) after a body is dead
No culture created Catholicism. Catholicism was created by God Almighty as He was incarnate in His Son, Jesus Christ. The Catholic Church was born from His pierced side when it was opened with a lance and blood and water flowed out - symbolizing Baptism and the Eucharist. Just as the first Adam's wife was created from his side by God, so the Church, Christ's bride, is created from His Side by God.
Yes there were wounds. He was pierced by the side.
Yes they broke his legs and pierced his side to be certain he was dead.
