You are not crazy. ( unless there are several people speaking in your mind, even then you would need to speak to a Psychiatrist who would determine if it's a problem). The fact that your asking "Am I crazy"? implies to me- NO-probably not. Everyone has what we call an inner dialogue, or monologue. Everyone talks to themselves, to different degrees, inside their head. Sometimes your reminding yourself to do ...., maybe your singing your favorite song (is everyone who sings in their head crazy?) maybe your planning & practicing what to say when you see someone again. If the inner monologue won't shut up, that's a small aggravation that any counsellor can help you control. **Seek help if these voices 1)are telling you to do things that you know are illegal or immoral 2) if they are insulting or belittling you 3) if you think they are alien or dead people. I really hope this has been helpful I would have save a lot of $ if I only knew that we ALL have inner dialogue, or monologue (whichever) It's natural & its OK!
Talking to oneself is a common behavior and is not necessarily a sign of mental illness. Many people talk to themselves as a way to process thoughts or make decisions. It only becomes a concern if it starts to interfere with daily functioning or is accompanied by other symptoms of a mental health disorder.
Using terms like "crazy" to describe someone's mental state is generally considered disrespectful and stigmatizing. It's more appropriate to use person-first language, such as saying "a person with a mental health condition" or "a person experiencing mental health challenges."

No, "screw loose" is a figurative expression used to suggest that someone is acting oddly or irrationally. It does not necessarily mean the person is crazy, but rather that their behavior is unusual or eccentric.
