you would put a rug on a horse during cold, windy or wet weather or when the horse is sweaty/wet or being bothered by flies. you would put a stable rug on a stabled horse when it's cold, sweat rug on a wet/sweaty horse, a New Zealand rug on a horse turned out at grass when it's wet/windy/cold and a summer/fly sheet on a horse being bothered by flies.
You usually put a fleece rug on a horse when you put them outside in the winter. Most horses wont need a winter rug because they grow a thick coat but if it's REALLY cold or your horse is clipped then you will need one.
its easy put it ijn a nbox
Horse rugs function the same way for horses that clothes function for humans. Because horses are warm blooded, they are affected by the climate. If it is too cold for the horse, a horse blanket will be put on the horse to keep it comfortable and to prevent it from getting sick.
If a horse has worn a horse rug while being ridden, the rug should be lifted and removed and the horse should be brushed where the horse rug was worn. The rug should be place on something that would allow it to get good ventilation to air dry.
For my horse i put rug on it all year round as it is old and clipped. If you have a horse that has a thick coat then it would be ok in the wind although it would be a good idea to put a thin rug on during the rain. Also when it is extremely cold then you need a good thick rug to stop the animal from getting cold. It is quite obvious for a horse that is clipped - rugs on for cold days and when its very cold then put a thick rug or rugs on. If you have a choice of what time of year then it would be winter and other cold mnths but generally just the days that is cold and wet. Hope i gave u an idea..x
It depends on what your horse is like;if your horse if fully rugged in winter, most people would put a light weight summer rug/sheet on.it just keeps the sun off them and the flies.I personally of put a fly rug on my horse in the summer and he in fully rugged over winter, he is also dark bay.If you are still stuck, ask somebody at your local equestrian shop for some advice or if you are at livery, then ask someobdy on the yard.winter
All seasons, you can get different types of rugs. autumn and winter are the most crucial to have a horse rug to keep them warm/dry. IDIOT.
if you have trained a horse and it is sweaty you would put a cooler on it, a thin fleece blanket
A cooler horse rug cools down a horse when it gets hot and sweaty.
just put one on when the weather is right really!!:) x
There is no precise way to fold a horse rug it just needs to be clean and dry.
I put my sheepskins in the washing machine and run it with the wool cycle with softner it came out lovely
