The boiling point of water is dependent on environmental factors and the presence of solutes. In this case the pressure of the system on the water serves to increase the boiling point of water. The higher pressures increase boiling points while lowering pressure decreases it.

What are Pressure cooker. it is boiler or not?

no, it is not a boiler. pressure cookers are pots that use pressure to cook food. now where there is pressure, there is heat. It's simple science. The heat then cooks the food. happy cooking!!added answer: pressure does not cause heat. Pressure simply allows the boiling point of the liquid to be higher since boiling point increases with the increase of pressure. A higher boiling point causes faster cooking.

Boiler steam pressure?

What you meant by this question is uncertain. If you are asking about the definition then Boiler steam pressure is the pressure developed by a water steam boiler, else if you are asking about the Rated boiler steam pressure then it is the safe operating pressure a boiler can operate, else if you are asking about Maximum boiler steam pressure then it is the maximum pressure that a boiler can produce with out failure.

How many pounds of pressure does low pressure boiler operate on?

A low pressure boiler is any boiler 15 psi or lower

How is boiler spring loaded safety valve works?

when the pressure increases over the maximum allowable working pressure of the vessel, the valve will open to protect against overpressure.

What is the difference between steam boiler and pressure vessel?

Boiler is basically a pressure vessel in which this boiler aims to heat the surroundings which is a pressure vessel.

What is meant by soda boiling of a new install boiler plant?

soda boiling of boiler means removing of oil traces and mill scales of boiler tube material with mild steam heating of filled boiler water and allowing to circulate naturally

Advantage of high pressure boiler over high pressure boiler?

How is the boiling point affected in a pressurized boiler system?

For the purpose of this answer let me rephrase your questions to be more definite. As once the steam leave a boiler we can assume it remains in a gaseous state until it energy is absorbed by some load/ demand. How is the boiling point affected in a pressurized boiler? The short answer... As pressure goes up the boiling point goes up. Example... When the fire is lit in the firebox of a boiler we will assume that the pressure is 0 psig. As heat is added by the fire the water will boil at around 212 degrees F, and so long as there is no load to absorb this heat and the firing rate is kept the same the water will continue to change state into steam and the pressure will rise inside the unit. Here is where we see the boiling point rising as the pressure increases. There is a fairly lengthly formula you can run through to calculate this but in the field we use charts called Steam Tables, in this example you would be looking at a Saturated Steam Table. If you looked at this table you would see that at 10 psig the temperature indicates is around 240 degrees. Now for the long formula... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boiling_point#Saturation_temperature_and_pressure

What is difference between 500MW boiler 660MW boiler?

500 MW Boiler is sub-critical Boiler which generates steam at pressure lower than the critical pressure ie below 221.2 kg/sqcm. where as the 660 MW boiler is super critical boiler which operates steam pressure above critical pressure.

What is the working principle and construction of lamont boiler?

What is a design pressure in a boiler?

a designed pressure in a boiler is a little man who lives inside the boiler continually watching animated porn.

What is Maximum Allowable Working Pressure definition?

The Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP) is used to rate components, steam drums, piping, tubes, boilers and any other pressure vessel in a hydraulic system. The reason this is so important can be seen easily in steam systems. The temperature that a fluid boils increases as pressure increases and decreases if pressure decreases. What this means is if you are running a boiler at 200 psi the water will boil around 387 degrees F. If it is creating steam this is the minimum temperature. If the boiler cracks and the pressure drops to atmospheric pressure, water would boil at 212 degrees F. This creates superheating or heating passed the boiling point. This will create Flash steam and cause an explosion. The MAWP rating is to decrease the chances of this happening.
