It's a summer constellation. Remember it this way: Orion is a winter constellation and in the myth, Orion and the Scorpion are enemies, so Zeus keeps them apart by putting them on the opposite sides of the sky.

Comment: Probably most people reading this live in the Northern Hemisphere.

However, in the Southern Hemisphere Scorpius is a winter constellation and

Orion is seen in the summer.

Scorpius is only visible in the winter, because the Earth's tilt on its axis keeps it so that when we look up, we see different things in the Northern Hemisphere than in the Southern.

In London, look South just above the horizon at the beginning of July, late in the evening. Would be easier to see at a more Southerly latitude.

around 10:00pm in July - look south (if you are in the Northern Hemisphere) and you will see Scorpius.
