When did Korea split into two countries?
There was a war, the result of which was a split. In history, many countries have been split in similar ways - some have recombined. Russi spread communim to china which spread it to north Korea. president Truman wanted to eliminate communism ( it was the cold war). So they moved into south Korea to combat the communism
They split because the North was Communist and the South was democratic. Korea was split into North and South after the Korean War,the North having a Communist government and South democratic government. This was done after the signing of armistice(not to be confused with a peace treaty which has never been signed...therefore the two countries are technically at war)to stop the fighting.
Well Korea used to be one country, but then after World War II, Korea was taken away from Japan and became independent. But they decided not to be on country and they split into two countries, hence North and South Korea. North Korea became a communist government with the help of the soviet Union and South Korea became a democratic government with the help of the United States.
