In the late 1890,s as far as I am aware of.
From the day they started making them.
What is the age of a 30-30 Marlin Limited Edition 3080 serial start with TR00126
Marlin has used both model, and serial numbers since they made their first handguns in 1870. However, this did not always include .22 rifles, as they were not always required to have a serial number, until 1968. Many Marlin .22 rifles from the post WWII to 1968 time were not serial numbered. Model numbers were always used, but some models were not marked with the model number. The model 1881, 1888, and 1889 Marlins were not marked with the model, but they were cataloged as these models.
It began in the 1800s. In 1934, US law required SNs on all handguns and machineguns. In 1968 law required them on rifles and shotguns. Prior to 1968, some long guns had serial numbers, some did not.
We need a model to start research. You should contact customer service at Remington (who now owns Marlin)
Assuming you are talking about a Marlin lever action made in recent decades, start with 100 and subtract the first 2 digits of the gun's serial number; 100 - 13 = 87 (1987).
Serial numbers that started w/23000 are dated form 1911-1912 . 1912 serial numbers start w/ 26000
no
I believe these were made in 1966 and 1967 only. 1966 serial numbers start at 1869776 1967 serial numbers start at 2097280 also look at oldmerc.com
No specific characters. Glock serial numbers for a long time now have been 3 letters, then 3 numbers.
Believe that your serial number is incorrect. There are no BT99 serial numbers that start with 47. There are however serial numbers that begin with 74 which is the year (1974)that they were made.
@ 1955319 start; Y series in 1972-86.
