Peter Anthony Allen and his accomplice, Gwynne Owen Evans were executed by hanging for the murder of John Alan West in April 1964.

According to Wikipedia - the last person was hanged in 1964. Capital punishment was abolished in Great Britain in 1969, and in Northern Ireland in 1973. However - the death penalty remained on the statute book until 1998.
