BBC Radio 1 began transmitting nationally on FM on 1 September 1988. Its last broadcast on MW was on 1 July 1994. Between those two dates it was broadcast on both MW and FM.

Radio 1, the UK contemporary channel run by the BBC is no longer on AM but is on FM between 77 - 79 MHz. It is also online, on Sky, Freesat and Freeview platforms and on DAB radio.

FM radio station transmit power in kW, while microwave radio only transmit in 1+ W max. New microwave radio transmit power less than 1W.
Radio 5 Live is only broadcast on analog radio on AM (Medium Wave), not FM radio. Frequencies for FM are measured in MegaHertz (MHz) but Medium Wave is transmitted in frequencies in the kiloHertz (kHz) range. The actual frequencies to tune in to for Radio 5Live are: 693 and 909kHz. It is also available on Digital Radio and online internet stream.

There is no dubstep FM station but there is hip hop and electronica. You can only listen to dub step online.
