Wow, this is powerful stuff. After that, I really can't find any clues. What I can speculate is that Susan was already intrigued by Frank, that the close proximity of the drive home made desire Frank sexually, and she was aware that should would not be able to suppress her desires for him. Thereafter, the affair must has been an outgrowth of her painting visits to Alhambra.
