1958 for black and white-in main centres only for 3 hours in the evening-lots of breakdowns-1 channel.TV's were very expensive so only a few people had them.The overseas news was aleady 1 day old when broadcast as it had to be flown in!!Most programmes came fro usa or Britain eg Rin tin tin ,Lassie, Hiram Holiday,Bootsy and Snudge.I love Lucy.The news was very formal ans modelled on the BBC using BBC English.
