There are some biblical scholars who have dated the death at crucifixion to 3 PM, Passover afternoon during the daylight portion of our Wednesday April 25th in the year 31 AD. He remained in the tomb that night and Thursday and Friday nights along with Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (Sabbath) day periods. A today of 72 hours just like the only sign He gave the Pharisees for His death. He arose just before sunset on Saturday April 28th during the Days of Unleavened Bread (died just before sunset on Passover Wednesday day) and was seen in the early darkness hours of the 1st day of the week - Sunday, already arisen on Saturday. On the 29th (Sunday) He went back to His Father in heaven as mankind's 'Wave Sheaf' offering found acceptable and salvation became available through Jesus - our perfect 'Passover Lamb' sacrifice for all.
Counting 50 days (meaning of Pentecost) from His resurrection on April 28, 31 AD to 17 June 31 AD, you arrive at the first Pentecost Sunday (had to arise on Saturday as 50 days is 7 full weeks (49) plus 1 more day to Sunday).
