Most troops only go through the school year, starting in Fall and ending at the beginning of summer. But some troops go through the summer doing activities like camping, (Girl Scout camp or campsite,) earning badges and IP's, and just having fun.

So, the 2009-2010 membership year ended on September 30, 2010.
The 2010-2011 membership year ends on September 30, 2011.
However, you may join Girl Scouts at any time. Each Girl Scout troop determines their start and end dates for meetings each year or they may continue to meet year round, regardless of the membership year, so contact your troop leader to find out when the troop will start meeting.
